The final days of Shea are upon us. Home Game 1 of the 2008 season is just underway. I am one of the millions of Mets fans who will be watching this one from home because I wasn't able to get tickets.

Now is the time to start saying goodbye to the unmarked bathrooms in the Upper Deck, Baseball's best scoreboard, the skyline atop the scoreboard, the neon figures on the facade, the beautiful blue that is everywhere, the partial-season ticket plans, and apparently (and disgustingly) the top hat from which our Apple rises.

If you can, we implore you to make your way out to Shea this summer, catch a ball game, cheer on our Mets, and hopefully get a chance to cheer the Apple rising from its home since 1980.
