[The Apple is] ... one of the most electrifying home run displays in all of baseball!
In the news - August 9th:

Since the last time we posted our press clippings, we were picked up by the Associated Press and the Daily News. We did an audio interview with 1010 Wins (who ran the AP article) and have been interviewed by a couple of other papers who will be running stories on us soon.

The AP article generated tons of blog posts and got us on blogs of all sorts from Mets Blog to a Make-up and NYC blog to various myspace blogs to a novelist and even a mention on Opie and Anthony.

We originally intended to link from this front page back to every single person who has linked to us, but the AP article has made that impossible. There are just too many of you. Please check the press page for all of the links. And if you know of one that we missed, e-mail us at the link on the press page.

We do want to highlight one website that is fighting to keep their own piece of Shea during the move to Citi Field. The guys over at Loge 13 are trying to keep their partial season ticket plan as the Mets move to Citi Field. Apparently, the Mets have told them that that, too, isn't going to make the move to the outfield parking lot. These guys have written not one, not two, but three articles about our campaign or referencing our campaign and we can't thank them enough for keeping up with us. What's more is that they, while obviously upset about the strong possibility of losing their seats, have focused their website instead on honoring Shea. Kingman writes:

We will celebrate the concrete beauty of Shea and the sometimes concrete play of its inhabitants. Let us reminisce about the many glorious moments of this doomed treasure by the bay. There is barely time between now and the wrecking ball to mention every worthy moment but we will try.

If you have a free moment, you should check out their site, it's a good read.

We will have a fully functioning store soon with t-shirts and hopefully also stickers, and potentially also pint glasses and coffee mugs. Seriously. If you'd be interested in any of those things, please e-mail us at the link on the store page so we can get an idea of how many to order.

Finally, please help us spread the word! Sign the petition! Make a sign and bring it to a game! Every little bit helps Save the Apple and that's why we're here and hopefully why you're here. If you're unsure, read Making our case - Part 2 for our view on why this Apple is the one for Citi Field.
